May has treated Colorado well so far. Just a few days ago, we reported on the abundance of fresh powder that fell on resorts across the state.

Officials at Copper Mountain announced that today marks 346” of snowfall at Copper Mountain, which "breaks this season into the top 10 all-time snowiest winters!"

Breaking things down even more, Copper Mountain just announced 11" of fresh powder today, and 14" from the May storm so far. Three inches of that fell overnight, with 11 inches falling over the last 24 hours. The extended season has not only delivered an abundance of snow, but sunshine, to boot.

Copper extended its season for two additional weeks, with its new closing date set for Sunday, May 12th. More snow could fall before then.

A May 12th closing ties Copper for the latest the resort has ever stayed open. The only other May 12th closure took place nearly 30 years ago during the 1995/96 winter season.

As of Monday, May 6th, skiing and riding operations are now based solely out of Center Village with access to the mountain via the American Eagle lift.

Four terrain parks remain open at Copper, including a hike park with rail features atop American Eagle, access to the 22-foot Superpipe, a cross course adjacent to the top of the superpipe, and rail and jump features located below the base of the superpipe.

Parking is free in all interior lots excluding Ten Mile. For those looking to get a sweat on, Uphill Route 1 remains open to Aerie. Guest Services continue to operate out of Center Village.
