Two candidates set to interview for Patriots open GM role

The New England Patriots had three people turn down interview requests for their open general manager position between Sunday and Monday afternoon.

Since then, ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that two requests have been accepted by Philadelphia Eagles director of scouting Brandon Hunt and former Carolina Panthers director of player negotiations and salary cap manager Samir Suleiman .

Hunt has held his current role with the Eagles since 2022. Prior to this, he had two stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers (as an intern from 2005-06 and as pro scouting coordinator from 2009-22) with a stop with the Houston Texans in between (as a pro scout from 2007-09).

Suleiman was with the Panthers from 2020-23. Before that, he worked as Pittsburgh Steelers football administration coordinator (2013-19), St. Louis Rams director of football administration (2000-09) and Jacksonville Jaguars manager of contract information (1998-99).

While the belief is that Eliot Wolf, the team's de facto general manager at the moment, will get the job, it's good to speak to others and give them the opportunity to really impress.
