CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– The drama around a once-canceled and now-reinstated anti-bullying assembly is continuing in the Midstate.

Brian Drapp resigned from the Cumberland Valley School Board Monday night after serving for six and a half years.

Drapp cited the upcoming assembly and the community response as the reason in his letter of resignation. Drapp said the board let attendees disrupt an April meeting and silence differing viewpoints.

The board canceled an appearance last month by “30 Rock” star and author Maulik Pancholy. One board member said Pancholy was a gay activist.

The board revived the May 22 assembly after local backlash and national coverage.
