    1 Dead, 6 Injured In Bus Crash In Rockingham County: Police

    Six people were injured and one person killed in a crash in Rockingham County last week, authorities said.

    A 2009 Chevrolet Impala was traveling east on Route 259 (Brocks Gap Road) when it rear-ended a 2015 Ford E350 bus, which was stopped for another eastbound vehicle making a turn around 9:55 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, Virginia State Police said.

    The driver of the Chevrolet, Thomas L. Breighner, 86, of Timberville, VA, died at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.

    The driver of the Ford, a 33-year-old woman from Old Fields, WV suffered minor injuries and was taken to Sentara RMH Medical Center for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt.

    Five adult passengers in the Ford suffered minor injuries and were transported to Sentara RMH Medical Center for treatment. All five passengers were wearing seatbelts. The crash remains under investigation.
