( WJET/WFXP )– The Pennsylvania Game Commission is cautioning Appalachian hikers with their dogs to be on the lookout for sabotaged treats in eastern Pennsylvania.

The game commission took to social media Monday evening warning hikers of the treats that were reported as stuffed with fishing hooks near the George W. Outerbridge shelter on the Appalachian Trail.

The hook-stuffed treats were initially discovered on State Game Lands #217, in Washington Township, Lehigh County.

If eaten these treats can be deadly and agony-inducing for any animal domestic or wild.
