CONWAY, Ark.- Members of an Arkansas car club are mourning the loss of one of their members following a double homicide in Saline County on Saturday night.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Brittany Taylor and 40-year-old David Taylor were killed on Saturday night.

David Taylor was a member of the Arkansas Honda Car Club and members of the club like Stefan Battles are mourning the loss of a friend.

“I met David about six years ago at a car meet,” Battles said.

Battles remembers Taylor’s smile and encouraging words as he made new improvements to his cars.

“He would be like ‘Good job, keep going like you did great,’” Battles said.

He said Taylor left behind a legacy in the car club that everyone matters.

“Didn’t matter who you were, what you looked like, what car you had, if you didn’t know him, you could still walk up to him,” Battles said. “You can shake his hand. He would greet you with a smile.”

He said Taylor mentored many on the Facebook community page and at their car shows, where they meet each month.

However, this month, that meeting will be different without him.

“This meet is just going to be us getting together and remembering who he was,” Battles said.

He said the saddest part will be not getting to watch Taylor’s car pull into the lot, a car that everyone knew him by.

“You saw a gray Prelude with orange wheels, and everybody was like, ‘That’s David,’” Battles said.

Battles said that this loss of a mentor hit him hard as David Taylor and his wife Brittany Taylor are leaving behind five children.

“I am a father myself, so I can imagine what his kids are going through right now,” Battles said. “I hope the best future for them because I know it’s rough.”
