    Two people from North Carolina killed in Franklin County crash

    FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Two people from North Carolina were killed in a crash involving a semi-truck in Franklin County on Sunday morning, according to a crash report.

    David Jernigan Jr., 30, was traveling westbound on Interstate 49 near mile marker 29 around 2:20 a.m. when his vehicle left the roadway into the median and struck the center pylons at an overpass.

    One dead, two injured in Franklin County crash

    Jernigan and his passenger Loren Smallwood, 36, did not survive the crash, according to the report.

    The report says conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.
