    FM 1006 to close at Union Pacific crossings; plus more this week from TxDOT

    Beginning Tuesday morning through Saturday (May 11), FM 1006 will be closed at the Union Pacific crossings near DOW Chemical.

    Traffic on the east side (DOW Chemical side) of closure traveling west will need to access FM 1006 and follow the detour to BUS-90. Once on BUS-90 traffic will follow the detour to SH87.

    Traffic on the West Side of the closure traveling east will need to follow the detour onto FM 105 (Foreman Rd.). They will travel FM 105 to SH87 where they will follow detour signage to FM 1006. Expect delays.

    Also in Orange County, beginning Tuesday, and running through Sunday, the northbound lane of State Highway 87 between State Highway 62 and the Orange County Airport will close intermittently.

    Golden Triangle Polymers is moving heavy hauls beginning Tuesday at 9 a.m. until approximately 1 p.m. Sunday

    On Saturday and Sunday, heavy hauls are expected to begin at 8 a.m. and run until approximately 8 p.m.

    Please use an alternate route or expect delays, Texas Department of Transportation officials warn.

    All construction work and heavy hauls are subject to change and weather permitting.

    In Jefferson County, motorists can expect alternating lane closures on U.S. 69 northbound from the Fannett Road overpass to Interstate 10 eastbound through Thursday.

    Contractors are working in the area from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

    Expect delays and drive cautiously in the area, TxDOT officials urge.

    TxDOT also announced there would be nightly closures through Friday on I-10 westbound from Washington Boulevard to Hillebrandt Bayou.
