    Saint James' Gabe Robinson and Tenley Mullendore voted Athletes of the Week

    Saint James' Gabe Robinson and Tenley Mullendore were voted The Herald-Mail’s Washington County Athletes of the Week for April 29-May 4 .

    The voting was conducted online Monday afternoon through noon Wednesday.

    Robinson, a junior lacrosse player, earned the boys honor with 47.97% of the vote (213 votes). He scored the game-winning goal in overtime against St. Andrew's as the Saints captured the regular-season MAC title. He finished with two goals and an assist for the game and then had a goal and an assist against DeMatha.

    Mullendore, a freshman softball player, was the girls winner with 38.31% of the vote (249 votes). She went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double and seven RBIs and pitched three shutout innings with five strikeouts in a win over Foxcroft, and she had two hits in a win over Williamsport and two hits in a win over St. Maria Goretti.

    The other girls nominees were South Hagerstown's Bethany Higgins (softball) and Boonsboro's Bekah Meiklejohn (lacrosse).

    The other boys nominees were Goretti's Will Oates (baseball) and North Hagerstown's Ryder Johnston (track).

    April 22-27 winners: Boonsboro's Sage Haller and South's Joseph Fox
