    Inmate dies at Sacramento County Main Jail

    (FOX40.COM) — A man was found dead in his cell at the Sacramento County Main Jail on Sunday night, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

    While conducting cell checks in the 6-East 100 Pod at 10:30 p.m., Main Jail Deputies found the man to be unresponsive and began administering first-aid upon entering the cell.

    Deadly deputy-involved shooting occurs in Stanislaus County

    The 45-year-old man was pronounced dead by fire personnel with the Sacramento Fire Department that had arrived at the jail to provide additional life-saving efforts, according to the sheriff’s office.

    An investigation has been launched by the sheriff’s office, including a determination of cause of death by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

    The man had been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on May 2 for a felony burglary warrant.
