Severe Weather Makes Another Appearance at the Start of this Week

More rain and severe weather in our area for the next several days.

Drought Conditions:

• After the immense amount of rainfall (and flooding in northern counties), our drought conditions have greatly improved!
• Southern counties still in a moderate drought.

SPC 3 Day Outlook:

• The next several days we are expecting more rain and severe weather.
• SPC has issued a very low threat for severe storms on Sunday, main threat is heavy rainfall and localized flooding.
• Monday is under an enhanced risk for our Kansas and Oklahoma counties, and an elevated risk for the rest of us.
  • Main threats on Monday will be damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes.

Sunday Rain:

• Rain moves in just after 2 AM Sunday morning.
• The main threat is heavy rainfall and localized flooding, but we are not expecting severe weather at this time.
• Mainly just widespread thundershowers for most of the day.

Monday Severe Threat:

• Monday evening, a dry line pushes through our region with the potential to spark very strong to severe storms.
• Storms push in as early as 8 PM but continue well after midnight.
• Severe threats include large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.

7 Day Forecast:

• Widespread rain starting early Sunday morning and continue majority of the day, but a severe threat is unlikely.
• Monday is an alert day as we see a dry line push in with the potential to spark strong to severe storms.
• A cold front moves in on Wednesday with the potential to spark strong to severe storms again.
