HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A late-night shooting that left one man dead and three more hurt marks the third shooting on the same Henrico County street in just two weeks.

On Thursday, May 2, at 11:27 p.m., the Henrico County Police Division responded to the 3800 block of Delmont Street for report of a shooting.

Once at the scene, officers found two men who had been shot.

According to police, these two victims were taken to area hospitals for life-threatening injuries. One of the two men, identified as 37-year-old Anthony Vondell Eberhardt of Henrico, later died in the hospital.

In addition to the first two victims, two other men believed to have been shot during the same incident were found after being hospitalized.

This is the third shooting on Delmont Street in the last two weeks, for a total of six victims shot.

On April 23, a man was shot in the groin on the same block as Thursday’s shooting. Another was shot just outside Richmond City limits and later found on Delmont Street on April 19.

8news spoke to one man in the area, who said he was inside when Thursday’s shooting happened.

“If there’s anything going on around [here,] you try to keep yourself away from it,” he said. “Because, no matter who they’re shooting at, that bullet doesn’t have a name on it. That bullet can hit anybody.”

He added that incidents like this are making many fearful, including a friend who’s had enough.

“She’s looking to move — because she’s lived here for three years and sometimes she hears guns at nighttime and stuff,” he said.

The neighbor also had a message for those responsible for this violence.

“You’re not doing what God sent you here for and you don’t know your purpose,” he said. “The main thing is to treat a person like the way you wanna be treated.”
