Crews from Polk County responded Thursday night to a three-alarm barn fire in Yamhill County.

SW Polk Fire District, one of multiple agencies involved, sent an engine and a medic unit with six personnel to the scene at 10895 Bethel Road in Amity.

The commercial fire call came in at 8:15 p.m. and quickly escalated to a second alarm, then a third alarm, with additional equipment and personnel needed to fight the blaze.

Smoke could seen from SW Polk Fire District's station in Rickreall.

Six personnel from SW Polk Fire District were on scene about four hours.

A spokesman for Amity Fire Department said the structure, described as a three-story barn, was a total loss. Amity Fire personnel were still mopping up and monitoring the scene Friday morning.

No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation.
