Local law enforcement officials have said they wanted to clear up "misconceptions" spread about the gruesome case of 19-year-old Sade Robinson's murder and dismemberment.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said it is continuing a search to locate the rest of the woman's remains. Sade was on what she thought would be a romantic date with 33-year-old Maxwell Anderson before her severed leg, torso and one arm were found along the stretch of the Lake Michigan beach in Wisconsin .

Anderson remains in custody on a $5 million bond after pleading not guilty to all charges. Details about his life up until the heinous alleged crime have surfaced, revealing he had frequent troubles with the law and a violent and aggressive personality .

Officials said that another search took place in Warnimont Park, on the shore of Lake Michigan, where Robinson's leg was found in April. Police are woking in cooperation with Bruce’s Legacy, a company with specialized sonar underwater detection equipment. However, the search did not yield any more of Robinson’s remains.

Sade's torso and arm were also found later along a remote stretch of tree-lined beach in South Milwaukee, about a quarter of a mile (400 meters) from an apartment complex.

The Sheriff's Office also said they utilized a boat equipped with sonar to search Lake Michigan for more possible human remains of Robinson, on Friday, April 19. In a statement, the office said they "would like to clear up misconceptions about the status of this investigation."

The MCSO had previously called out "rumors" spread on social media that were "insanely irresponsible" and false, according to the office. The latest statement reads:

    • "MCSO has not slowed down or discontinued this investigation. A dedicated team of detectives, the same team that built the criminal case against Anderson, continues to work the case, seek, and sort through leads and tips about potential evidence.
    • "Anderson has not been out of custody at all since he was first arrested for Robinson’s murder.
    • "MCSO has not 'allowed' Anderson’s family or anyone else to inappropriately enter the suspect’s home. The investigative team, with assistance from state and federal officials, has searched the home and the property on which it sits multiple times on multiple court-issued search warrants, to seek and secure evidence. After those search warrants were fulfilled and potential evidence gathered, the law allowed anyone authorized by the homeowner to enter the home and even remove personal property. No such action harmed this criminal investigation."
    • "The criminal investigation will not be negatively impacted by the possibility that Anderson’s home may be sold. If at any point investigators determine they need to re-enter the home, they will secure another search warrant and do so, no matter who owns the home."
