    York County woman wins $50,000 after buying first lottery ticket

    YORK COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A York County woman won a $50,000 when she bought a Virginia Lottery ticket for the first time.

    According to Virginia Lottery, Latelynne Berland was at a 7-Eleven on Ottis Street in York County buying lottery tickets for her mother when she decided to get one for herself for the first time.

    Berland played the Virginia Lottery’s Pick 5 game and matched the winning five-digit combination of 2-9-4-2-3, winning a $50,000 prize.

    Berland said she plans to use the money to help her sister pay for her college tuition.
