An Upstate County is set to receive millions in a lawsuit settlement. More than 5 years ago, Greenville County signed onto a class action opioid lawsuit. The County is set to receive 3 million dollars in the suit.

Much of that money will go to local addiction related programs. More than 200 grand will go to a non-profit called Challenges Incorporated. The organization's primary focus is to make drug use safe.

Challenges Inc gives out clean syringes, Narcan kits and they provide HIV and Hepatitis testing. Greenville County leaders are supporting the move to provide the program with more funding.

The nonprofit only seems to offer goods and services that make drug use safer and doesn't seem to have programs that focus on actual recovery from addiction.
