    Inmate death investigation at Bulloch Co. Jail

    BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV)- The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, along with the county jail staff, is investigating the death of an inmate.

    According to officials, around 6:32 a.m. on Thursday, the Bulloch County Jail staff requested an E.M.S. for an inmate who was not responsive.

    At this time, the inmate has been confirmed to be deceased.

    The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was contacted and is currently the lead investigative agency.

    GBI was able to identify the inmate as Robert Linwood Chavers, 68, of Statesboro.

    Chaves was serving time for one count of Peeping Tom and one count of Criminal Trespass.

    This case is still under investigation. No further information has been released.
