76-year-old “Red Rocker” Sammy Hagar was finally given his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, April 30, joined by a few of his celebrity pals to help with the official unveiling, including Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith , former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Flavor town mayor and business partner Guy Fieri , and songwriter John Mayer , as well as his family, long-time manager Tom Consolo , and tons of devoted Redheads.

During the ceremony, Hagar reminisced about walking as a kid along the Boulevard, “Seeing this thing, and to think… it was just way beyond even a dream," he said. "You have dreams, and then you have the dream that you didn't dream. This is one of those dreams that come true that I didn't dream."

"Yesterday, April 30, 2024 will be one of the highlights of my musical life if not THE! Being honored like that in front of my family and more friends than I thought I had, touched my heart so there is no word that can come close to saying what I felt and am still feeling," Hagar said on Instagram after the event. "The amount of Redheads that showed up was mind blowing to the committee as well who said it was one of the best turnouts ever."

Hagar tells People his new star, "means everything" to him, adding, "It's the final thing that you can achieve. This goes in the streets for 10 million people a year to see, and I think it's quite the statement. It's almost like I could say, 'Well, I can quit now!' because I don't know any higher achievement or award. [But] I can't [quit]. It's not in my DNA."
