You might find this show entertaining

I discovered a new YouTube channel about eight months ago and I have found myself actually looking forward to new episodes every week, so I wanted to share it with you. Maybe you’ll find it as interesting as I do.

There exists a gentleman and journalist by the name of Pablo Torre. If you don’t know him by name, you might recognize his mischievous smile and overly exposed calves from ESPN shows like High Noon, Around The Horn, Highly Questionable and a plethora of other programs that have been broadcast on the sports mothership.

Torre, no relation to the former Yankees manager and current MLB executive Joe Torre, created and hosts the show I wanted to tell you about called Pablo Torre Finds Out. What exactly does Pablo Torre find out? I’m glad you hypothetically asked; I had the same question.

First and foremost though, it’s important to note that he and his researchers truly do seem to take a journalistic approach to the subjects and topics they cover, no matter how silly. Not everyone in the media, and very few people on YouTube, approach their craft and their pursuit of truth as a journalist would. It appears he does and I value that.

So what kind of subject matter has he explored thus far? Most recently, two MLB teammates in the 70s whose wives traded husbands after a party at a sports writer’s house. You read that right, athletes and media members used to hang out in their off time.

Other topics have included what Jordan Poole supposedly said to Draymond Green before getting punched during practice, the best chess player in the Wu-Tang Clan and why so many athletes have tattoos of the Joker.

Other notable show topics include how a video game called Football Manager changed soccer, why competitive athletes are prone to addictive behaviors and how the Knicks botched their pursuit of LeBron James prior to “the decision” and (spoiler alert) got Tony and Carmela to provide an alternate ending to The Sopranos in an effort to bring LeBron’s talents to Madison Square Garden.

I could write an additional column about why it’s in James’ best interest to make that move this offseason, no matter how corny the Knicks’ pitch is, but I’ll save that for another day.

For now, I’ll strongly suggest you go see for yourself just how cringe worthy the Knicks pitch video was on Pablo’s YouTube channel.
