ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A north-county McDonald’s is raising money for one of their employees after she was beaten by a customer in April.

“Ariyah, she’s great. She’s a model employee. She takes pride in what she does; she always helping others. She’s helping customers; she has integrity about what she does day to day; she’s great,” Thaddis Henderson, area supervisor, said.

Just days after 15-year-old Ariyah Lynch was named employee of the month, she was sent to the hospital. Court documents show a 25-year-old man was escorted out of the restaurant after destroying an electronic menu.

The document goes on to say that outside, the man got into an argument with employees and pulled one of them to the ground by their hair. The 25-year-old is facing charges for punching and stomping on Lynch’s head.

“She had a fractured skull and she had to have surgery on her nasal passage,” Henderson said.

He said Lynch’s work family, the community, and customers of McDonald’s are raising money to help with the medical bills that are stacking up.

“Every day. Every day. It’s not a day that goes by that I work that people don’t ask about her,” Sanaya McGee, a co-worker, said.

McGee said Lynch is the type of co-worker who quickly turns into a friend.

“Ariyah is a very sweet person. Like, genuinely one of the sweetest persons I’ve ever met in my life. She’s very kind and soft-hearted; she’s a soft person,” McGee said.

“We consider ourselves a family here. So if one of us is hurt, all of us is hurt. Most of the people have reached out to her. She’s our family and we take care of our family members,” Henderson stated.
