Spokane County Sheriff's Office K9 unexpectedly passes away

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -- A k9 with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office unexpectedly passed away last week, according to SCSO.

Deputy T. Kullman found his 9-year-old K9 partner Zeus dead in his kennel on April 25 in the morning.

The day before, Deputy Kullman and Zeus had a routine day, working a normal shift and playing fetch. Zeus ate dinner at his usual time and then retired to his kennel.

According to SCSO, the following morning, Deputy Kullman was devastated to discover Zeus had passed away during the night while lying on his bed.

Zeus joined SCSO in December 2019. SCSO said he leaves behind "a legacy of service and loyalty."
