(Guthrie County, IA) – The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday to review the budget amendment and appoint a representative to the E911 Board among many other matters. They went into discussing with the sheriff about his department’s fiscal year 2023-24 budget amendment review. The Sheriff stated that they were looking for funds for equipment, a full-time jailer, and health insurance. In terms of the property and liability insurance, they also had to amend that budget after going over that budget in that respective area last year. Dani Fink spoke to KSOM/KS95 news on what the sheriff discussed with board on Tuesday.

The supervisors also appointed Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator Jeremy Cooper to the E911 board to replace outgoing Emergency Manager Bob Kempf after he retires from his position.

In other matters, the board approved the resolution finalizing the final plat of Sprague Minor Subdivision after Chris Whitaker notified the board last week that the property warranted a minor subdivision process. The board also discussed the public hearing for the proposed fiscal year 2023-24 budget amendment that was approved by the board to take place May 21st at 9:30 p.m.
