Meet the Candidate: Tiffany Clemins for House of Delegates – 36th District

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your experience/accomplishments.

Hello, I’m Tiffany Clemins. I’ve had the privilege of serving as an educator in WV for the past seven years, and I am a lifelong resident of McDowell County. I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Marshall University and am currently pursuing my educational doctorate. My academic achievements include graduating as salutatorian from Mount View High School, and outside of my professional life, I’m a proud aunt to my 8 nephews and nieces and also, a proud Cat Mom to Mango.

What made you run for the House of Delegates?

I chose to run for the House of Delegates because there was no one representing the Democratic party on the ballot in our district. I believe strongly that democracy thrives when voters have a choice, and I wanted to ensure that my constituents could voice their needs and preferences through their votes.

What are some issues facing your district and West Virginia right now that you would like to see addressed and fixed? How would you fix those issues?

Our district faces several critical issues, including the need for improved educational resources, access to healthcare, enhanced infrastructure, and stronger financial management. I plan to address these by advocating for increased funding for schools and healthcare facilities, securing state and federal resources for infrastructure improvements like water systems and broadband access, and working closely with local businesses and organizations to secure grants for economic development.

What makes you stand out as the best choice?

My strong roots within this community, combined with my experience as an educator, equip me uniquely to understand and respond to the challenges we face. I am committed to transparent governance and will prioritize the needs and rights of all constituents ensuring that every decision made is with the welfare of McDowell County in mind.

Is there anything else voters should know about you and your campaign?

My campaign is built on a commitment to service, integrity, and progress. I stand for a government that listens, cares, and acts in the best interests of its people. I am dedicated to being a representative who not only voices your concerns but actively works towards practical solutions that benefit our community.
