East China Twp. man charged in Isabella County for fatal crash

A St. Clair County man has been charged in connection to a fatal crash in Isabella County.

Kyle Adams, 37, was arraigned Friday on charges of operating while intoxicated causing death, punishable with up to 15 years in prison, and two counts of operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury, each punishable with up to five years in prison.

The crash on East Pickard Road happened on Nov. 29, resulting in the death of 71-year-old Norman Carson, according to Michigan State Police. Two others were reportedly injured in the three-vehicle crash.

Adams reportedly admitted to drinking before the crash when questioned by a trooper. A probable cause conference has been scheduled for May 9 and a preliminary examination is scheduled for May 16.

Peter Torrice, the attorney representing Adams, was not available for comment.
