(4:37 PM) — The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…South central Sac County in west central Iowa… Eastern Crawford County in west central Iowa…Northwestern Carroll County in west central Iowa…until 515 PM CDT.

At 431 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Defiance, or 11 miles south of Denison, moving northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include…Carroll, Denison, Manning, Wall Lake, Manilla, Arcadia, Breda,
Vail, Westside, Halbur, Lidderdale, Buck Grove, Aspinwall, Manning Municipal Airport, and Wall Lake Municipal Airport.

At 400 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Soldier, or 20 miles west of Denison, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include… Denison, Schleswig, Dow City, Charter Oak, Vail, Deloit, Ricketts, Arion, and Denison Municipal Airport.

(3:52 PM) — The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…Southeastern Monona County in west central Iowa & North central Harrison County in southwestern Iowa… until 415 PM CDT.

At 344 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles south of Moorhead, or 21 miles east of Tekamah, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD…Ping pong ball size hail.

People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles.

Locations impacted include…Ute, Pisgah, Moorhead, and Soldier.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southwestern and west central Iowa.

At 343 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Le Mars, moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

This severe thunderstorm will be near…Le Mars and Remsen around 350 PM CDT & Marcus around 400 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of this severe thunderstorm include Alton and Granville.

At 325 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles southwest of Herman, or 10 miles northwest of Blair, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD…Tennis ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include…Tekamah, Mondamin, Modale, Herman, Pisgah, Magnolia, Little Sioux, Pelican Point State Recreation Area, Preparation Canyon State Park, Willow Lake Recreation Area, and Little Sioux Scout Ranch.

This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 84 and 100.

(3:17 PM) — The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…Northwestern Dixon County in northeastern Nebraska & Southeastern Clay County in southeastern South Dakota until 345 PM CDT.

At 313 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Wynot, or 8 miles west of Vermillion, moving northeast at 40 mph.

60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail are possible with this storm. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

At 303 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles north of Blair, moving northeast at 30 mph.

60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail possible with this storm. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include…Blair, Logan, Woodbine, Mondamin, Modale, Pisgah, Magnolia, Little Sioux, Preparation Canyon State Park, Willow Lake Recreation Area, and Little Sioux Scout Ranch. This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 79 and 92.

(2:54 PM) — The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect through 3:30 PM for southwestern Burt County.

At 246 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles north of Cedar Bluffs, or 7 miles northwest of Fremont, moving northeast at 40 mph.

Ping pong ball size hail is likely. Trained weather spotters reported 1 inch hail in Ames.

People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles.

Locations impacted include…Fremont, Blair, Tekamah, Hooper, Nickerson, Herman, Craig, Winslow, Summit Lake State Recreation Area, Fontanelle, Ames, and Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area.

At 248 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles southwest of Hartington, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include Hartington, Coleridge, Obert, Brooky Bottom, and The Highway 84 and 15 Junction.

(1:37 PM) – A Tornado Watch has been issued for Madison, Stanton, Cuming, Burt, Thurston, & Dakota Counties in NE Nebraska, and Woodbury, Monona, Harrison, Crawford, Ida, Sac, and Calhoun Counties in NW Iowa until 10 PM tonight.

A Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in the designated area. During a watch there is no cause for immediate concern. You should go about your normal business…but be on the lookout and keep up to date on the latest weather developments.

PREVIOUS (7:59 a.m.): A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for multiple Nebraska counties.

According to the National Weather Service, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be in effect for northwestern Bert County, southeastern Cuming County, northwestern Dodge County, and southern Thurston County until 8:30 a.m.

The warning was declared after a severe thunderstorm was located near Snyder.

Locations that may be impacted include West Point, Oakland, Lyons, Bancroft, Snyder, Rosalie, Dead Timber State Recreation Area, and the Omaha Reservation.

Quarter-size hail is expected and damage to vehicles is expected.

PREVIOUS: Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are being issued for areas in the Siouxland region.

According to the National Weather Service, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of Cuming, Colfax, and Stanton Counties that will expire at 7:30 a.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning set to expire at 8 a.m. was also issued. This Warning includes areas of southeastern Wayne County, northwestern Cuming County, and east central Stanton County.

The severe storm was detected eight miles southeast of Stanton.

Quarter-size hail is expected and damage to vehicles is possible.
