Victim of Henrico moped crash identified

Henrico Police have identified the man who died when the moped he was driving crashed into another vehicle April 29.

Maurice Green, 59 of Henrico, died on Mechanicsville Turnpike near the Henrico-Hanover line after his moped was struck by another vehicle as he was stopping or slowing down abruptly in the middle lane, according to police. The crash was reported at about 3:19 p.m.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, police said, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Henrico Police Det. T. Holmes at (804) 928-0014 or submit an anonymous tip through Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
