The Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH) recently held its “Mobile Roundup,” coordinating its consumer protection unit staff to inspect and permit hundreds of vendors during the last two weeks of March.

The department issued 534 mobile food vendor permits and reported 612 inspections at the event held at the Fresno Fairgrounds Carnival Lot , a 38% increase from the previous year which saw 444 inspections.

Permits for mobile vendors expire each year on March 31.

During the roundup, vendors were invited to schedule appointments at their convenience. Vendors were also offered reinspection without additional fees.

The process aimed to foster an environment for vendors to engage with inspectors to discuss improvements or expansions to their operations.

Additionally, the department sends all necessary inspection documents to the Mobile Roundup, simplifying the process for vendors and saving a trip to the FCDPH office prior to inspection.

Mobile food vendors who were unable to attend the Mobile Roundup can still receive inspections throughout the year by calling the department’s main line at (559) 600-3357 for appointments.

Additional information for vendors, as well as announcements, zoning laws, plan reviews and more can be found at the department’s website .
