    Strong storms moving in for the start of your weekend in the Mid-South

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Mid-South is under a Level 1/5 Severe Weather Risk Zone for Friday.

    Strong winds and hail will be the primary threat with that storm system.

    Until then, things should remain pleasant in the Mid-South. Temperatures warm up Thursday with highs nearing 85 and some cloud cover.

    Severe Risks Ahead

    Those temperatures drop again when the rain moves in on Friday. High temperatures are only expected to reach the mid-70s for our area. Rain is expected to linger around all day on Friday and possibly carry into Saturday.

    Once the rain moves out though, things get hot and sunny. High temperatures in the Mid-South this weekend are expected to flirt with 90.

    Thursday: Very warm with sunshine. Showers and storms return Thursday night. Highs in the mid-80s. Friday: Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid- and upper-70s. Saturday: Partly sunny with lingering showers and storms in the morning, much warmer. Highs low 80s. Sunday: Sunny and very warm. Highs in the mid-80s. Monday: Sunny and hot. Highs in the mid- and upper-80s.
