STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Steuben County residents might experience some delays on state Route 248 over the next few months as New York State continues to repair bridges around the county.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office , crews began working on the bridge that carries Route 248 over Bennett Creek at the Call Hill Road intersection, which is between Canisteo and Greenwood, on April 17. Crews are putting in two temporary stoplights, and the road will be reduced to one lane during construction. This project is expected to continue through December.

Crews will also be working on the bridge that carries Route 248 over Sugar Creek, which is one mile north of the Carl Hill Road intersection. This project is expected to start on May 1 and end in October.

The sheriff’s office is reminding motorists to drive safely and follow all construction signs and signals posted in these work zones.
