CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – National Crawfish Day takes place on Wednesday and celebrates one of the South’s most iconic foods.

Crawfish is a fresh-water cousin to the lobster and provides a unique flavor to many homegrown Southern dishes. It can either be baked or boiled and is usually seasoned with a distinctive brand of southern heat.
If you have not been to a crawfish boil, then you might not understand the meaning of digging into your food. A boil consists of a massive pile of corn, potatoes, sausage, and other shellfish. Make sure you bring paper towels!
