One dead, charges pending after truck breaks down on Panther Creek Road in Hancock County

HANCOCK COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — One person is dead and two people were injured after a broken-down vehicle was hit in Hancock County according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol . Charges are also pending against one of the drivers involved.

According to the THP’s preliminary report, the crash took place on April 14 at 8:37 p.m. on Panther Creek Road near Fox Branch Road.

The report said that a 1988 Toyota Pickup had broken down in the southbound lane on Panther Creek Road and a 2001 Ford Ranger was parked in front of it. Both drivers were out of their cars, with the pickup’s driver, identified as 58-year-old Ronnie Kinsler , standing at the rear of his truck while the Ranger’s driver was standing between the two cars.

According to the report, a 1996 Toyota RAV-4 was going south on Panther Creek Road when it struck Kinsler and rear-ended the pickup. The impact caused the pickup to be knocked forward and hit the rear end of the Ranger and its driver.

Kinsler was killed as a result of the crash, while the driver of the Ranger and the Toyota’s driver were injured according to the report. Charges are listed as pending against the driver of the Toyota in the report.
