Woman enters trooper’s home claiming she was in a relationship with him

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman is facing charges after entering the home of a West Virginia State Police officer claiming to be in a relationship with him.

According to investigators, on March 25, 2024, a WVSP member stated a woman, Sherry Carpenter, entered his home and scared his wife. The officer said that Carpenter has been harassing him using calls, messages, presents, and statements to multiple people in the community. The officer has repeatedly told Carpenter that he wanted no contact with her.

A witness said Carpenter came to his garage and told him she was in a relationship with the officer. The witness said that is impossible because the officer is married and has children. Carpenter allegedly told the witness that she was going to kick his wife out.

A second witness told investigators that Carpenter told them she was moving in with the officer.

The officer’s wife was at home when Carpenter entered the home. The victim told her to leave, which Carpentered did.

Carpenter is charged with stalking, harassment, entering without breaking, and trespassing. She is being held in Southern Regional Jail under a 10,000 dollar bond.
