“Thank a Teacher” is a campaign organized by Virginia Lottery in which teachers from around Virginia are sent thank you cards during Teacher Appreciation Week. Three winners, from elementary, middle and high school, are selected to have their artwork featured on the cards.

According to Virginia Lottery, Helen Hou, a senior at Albemarle High School, won the contest’s high school category. She was awarded a $200 gift card and her school’s art department was awarded a $2,000 credit from The Supply Room.
