West Virginia McDonald’s will be first to see Krispy Kreme donuts

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — On Tuesday, McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme announced the popular donut brand would begin appearing at McDonald’s locations , with nationwide availability expected by the end of 2026. But when will they show up in West Virginia?

The answer is sooner than most of the country. According to a press release from Kerry Ford PR , West Virginia McDonald’s locations are in the first wave of restaurants that will be getting Krispy Kreme donuts.

West Virginia McDonald’s franchisee John Ebert told 12 News donuts could be coming to West Virginia locations in as little as six months, but the exact time of their arrival is subject to change. That said, West Virginians can expect to see Krispy Kreme donuts for sale in their local McDonald’s before the end of the year.

According to the release, donuts will be delivered fresh to McDonald’s restaurants every day and will be available individually or in boxes of six. Currently, West Virginia only has one Krispy Kreme bakery, which is located in Charleston; another location can be found in Pittsburgh, PA.

Donuts will be for sale starting at breakfast until supplies last. Three donut varieties will be available:

• Original Glazed Doughnut
• Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut
• Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnut

Krispy Kreme donuts have already been tested at 160 McDonald’s locations in the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky area.
