    Texas City ISD

    For the first time since COVID-19, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is announcing school ratings and Texas City ISD’s academic growth has led to higher ratings than before! is rated a B!

    The district went from a C to a B, growing by 6 points.

    Texas City High School improved from a C to a B, growing 3 points.

    La Marque High School improved from a D to a C, growing 8 points.

    Blocker Middle School maintained a B. Giles Middle School, formerly called La Marque Middle School, grew from an F to a C, growing 13 points.

    Fry Intermediate remained a C. Guajardo Elementary is rated a B. Hayley Elementary grew from an F to a C, growing 19 points.

    Heights Elementary improved from a C to an A, growing 23 points.

    Kohfeldt Elementary improved from a D to a C, growing 12 points.

    Roosevelt-Wilson Elementary remained a C. Simms Elementary grew from an F to a B, growing 30 points.

    This campus had the greatest growth in the district.

    Superintendent Dr. Melissa Duarte said, "This is a huge accomplishment considering the learning loss due to the pandemic, the amount of absenteeism due to COVID-19, transitions in leadership and new educator learning being embraced.

    We are really excited to see our campuses grow.

    ”Several campuses also earned TEA Distinctions.
