Timothy Leon Wilson, Jr., 25, of Florida, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Carlos E. Mendoza.

The defendant pleaded guilty earlier in December to selling an individual a mix of fentanyl and heroin which led the user to overdose and die shortly after consumption.

The local Fire Department immediately responded and rushed the overdose victim to the hospital, where they passed away shortly after arriving.

On the same day, law enforcement was able to arrange a controlled purchase of additional drugs with Wilson.

He arrived at the controlled purchase location with more of the same substance he sold earlier to the victim. The suspect was also in possession of a loaded firearm.

Florida Women Rescued in Hostage Situation

In his confession, he acknowledged having sold the injured party drugs.

The Medical Examiner determined that the overdose was caused by heroin and fentanyl.
