South Carolina Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested for Stalking

Agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged former Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy James Christopher Leaisure, 28, with stalking.

According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arrest report, Leaisure sent multiple text messages to his spouse. The messages included threats of harming her and disabling her vehicle so she could not leave.

The woman believed the messages were a valid threat. After accumulating many texts over a 2 day period, she contacted the local police.

The local police requested that the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division take over the investigation.

After a voluntary interview on 04/28/22, SLED agents arrested him.

There is no official word on his bond. As of this article, he remains in jail.
