    Brooksville, Florida-

In a blundered real estate deal, a Florida town sold its water tower.

The building under Brooksville Florida's water tower was purchased last April by a businessman for $55,000. The county advised Bobby Read that the parcel he bought included the entire water tower site when he applied for an address for his new business location.

It was a blessing for the 8500 people living in the town that Mr. Read was willing to return it. Brooksville got the water tower back. Just recently, the documentation was finalized.

Blake Bell, a city council member, said council members rely on the city manager. To avoid pointing the finger at anyone, he said he assumed that all the proper steps were taken.

Mark Kutney, the city manager, claimed that the problem was caused by a bad legal description. The botched sale led to the resignation of Chris Anderson, the City's Redevelopment Agency Director.
