(DENVER, Colo.) Hunters in Colorado can submit applications from now till June 30 at 8 p.m. to draw a license in the Colorado Parks and Wildlife secondary big game draw.

The draw is officially up and running as annual primary big game draw results have been posted. Anyone can apply for the secondary draw regardless of if they had applied for the initial draw or not.

The secondary draw provides hunters a greater opportunity to hunt within the Centennial State. The old leftover draw was exclusively available to customers that took part in the primary draw, did not draw at all and only offered deer and elk licenses.

The secondary draw provides two more species including bear and pronghorn licenses in addition to deer and elk licenses. Young hunters are offered 100% preference in the secondary draw, as it processes all youth application choices before processing adult choices.

Licenses remaining following the secondary draw as well as those that are eligible for public reissue will be placed on a leftover list and will be available for purchase starting Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. Both applications for the primary and secondary draw are available either online here or by phone.

There is a $7 application fee for residents and a $9 fee for nonresidents that apply per species for the secondary and primary draw.

Resident and nonresident hunters are required to purchase or have purchased one of the following qualifying licenses:

Qualifying license valid for Colorado residents only are as follows:
