    Teen sets fire to woman's hair on Muni bus

    (SAN FRANCISCO) Police in San Francisco on Tuesday asked for assistance to identify a woman whose hair was set ablaze on board a bus.

    The San Francisco Police Department's Tenderloin Station responded to the incident on a No. 5 Fulton Street Muni bus at approximately 2:25 p.m. Officers met the bus operator who told them a passenger’s hair had been set on fire by an unidentified male teen passenger, according to a news release.

    Other passengers assisted the woman. She left before the officers arrived. She was described as between 50 and 60 years old with dark hair and eyeglasses.

    The suspect and two acquaintances exited the bus and were last seen heading eastbound on McAllister Street. The suspect is described as a Black male teen last seen wearing a red long sleeve top, matching red pants and a black backpack.

    The SFPD Special Investigations Detail is asking the victim to come forward and provide a statement.

    The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this crime can call the SFPD tip line at 415-575-4444 or text TIP411 with “SFPD” to start the message. Tips can remain anonymous.
