Dozens of House Republicans signed onto letters objecting to counting the electoral votes from multiple states that helped deliver Joe Biden the presidency when Congress convened last week.

While more than 100 lawmakers voted to hear objections to electoral votes in two states last week – Arizona and Pennsylvania – The Hill has obtained letters showing signatories to objections in four other states: Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin.

Unlike Arizona and Pennsylvania, no senator backed the challenges in those four other states, thus Congress did not debate them or hold a vote. Still, the documents show that dozens of Republicans had lined up to support objections in those other states, with a number of Republicans signing onto all six letters ahead of last week’s attack on the Capitol by Trump supporters.

Lawmakers who backed the challenges argued they were addressing legal questions and concerns about the electoral process. The effort, which has sparked blowback following Wednesday's deadly riot at the Capitol, failed to change the results of the election.
