9-year-old calls 911 after father kills her mother, 2 others in apparent murder-suicide, police say

NEW YORK — A 9-year-old girl called 911 after her father apparently killed her mother, two other family members and himself in New York City’s Brooklyn borough, police said.

According to WABC and WNBC, the incident occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Monday at an apartment on Sutter Avenue in Brownsville. New York police responded to the girl’s 911 call and arrived to find her 45-year-old mother, a 20-year-old woman and a teenage girl dead inside the home, the news outlets reported. Officers discovered the girl’s 46-year-old father dead outside and recovered two firearms, authorities said.

Police said the 9-year-old was unharmed, WNBC reported. Authorities have not released the names of the victims or the suspect, according to the news outlets.
