NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – You might have heard of a cat getting stuck in a tree, but what about a dog?

Crews with the Newport News Fire Department (NNFD) assisted animal control on Wednesday after a dog, Tater, climbed up a tree while chasing a cat.

When Ladder 2 arrived to the scene, Tater was stuck about 20 feet in the air. Senior Firefighter John Pearson and Firefighter Elijah Taylor worked to get Tater safely to the ground.
