A low blow: Dozen vases stolen from headstones at Peninsula cemetery
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — It’s about as low as you can go — stealing from graves. A family contacted 10 On Your Side after discovering the vase on their mother’s headstone at Greenlawn cemetery had been stolen. 10 On Your Side quickly discovered that they are not the only victims.
A former Hampton Roads sailor convicted of attempted espionage
Chief Petty Officer Bryce Pedicini was convicted of attempted espionage and two other violations of military law Friday, in a Navy courtroom in San Diego. Pedicini was found not guilty the most serious charges - 7 counts of espionage mainly related to his time in Hampton Roads. The sailor was also found not guilty or the charges were dismissed for 7 additional charges of communicating defense information.
Police: 1 dead in Pocaty Road crash in Chesapeake
CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A man died in a single-vehicle crash late Sunday night on Pocaty Road in Chesapeake, police said. Chesapeake Police got the call for a single-vehicle crash at 11:43 p.m. in the 2500 block of Pocaty Road, and when officers arrived, they found a single vehicle with a man inside. They determined that the driver was traveling northbound when his vehicle left the road and hit a tree. Police said the man died at the scene.
Dogs involved in Portsmouth mauling incident euthanized
The dogs that mauled a woman to death earlier this month in the Prentis Park neighborhood of Portsmouth have been euthanized. Officers responded to a call about 1:33 a.m. on April 12 to the 1800 block of Atlanta Avenue, according to a release sent the day of the attack.
