HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Some areas of Warrick County saw upwards of 5 inches of rain on Tuesday, and some people reported seeing what is called a “cold air funnel” in Newburgh, but this morning The National Weather Service has confirmed that it was actually an EF-1 tornado.

NWS says “It’s possible” damage caused by cold air funnel cloud

Officials say that the EF-1 Tornado touched down at 5:14 p.m. with peak winds of about 94 miles per hour. The storm traveled just under four tenths of a mile, from the south of West Marywood Drive to North of West Oakdale Drive, and was on the ground for about a minute. The Weather Service says that the maximum width of the tornado was about 75 yards, and damage was mostly limited to uprooted trees, but a few homes ended up with some minor damage.
