The New Jersey Devils have given Brian Halonen and Samuel Laberge two-way contracts.

The Devils continue to give two-way contracts to rostered players and Halonen and Laberge are the most recent recipients.

Halonen signed a two-year contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $175,000 at the AHL level in 2024-25 and in 2025-26 it's worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $275,000 at the AHL level. The announcement was made by President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald and Devils’ Assistant General Manager/Utica Comets General Manager Dan MacKinnon.

The 25-year-old played in two NHL games this season with the Devils. With the Comets he recorded 20 goals and 29 points in 35 games. Halonen was signed to an ATO as an undrafted NCAA free agent out of Michigan Tech in 2022.

Laberge signed a one-year contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $120,000 at the AHL level ($135,000 guaranteed). The announcement was made by President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald and Utica General Manager/New Jersey Devils Senior Vice President, Assistant General Manager Dan MacKinnon.

The 27-year-old also got into two games with the Devils this season and played 59 games with the Comets scoring six goals and 19 points. Listed at 6'2, 205 lbs, Laberge has accumulated 350 penalty minutes in his 252 career AHL games.

Halonen is one of the top candidates on the Comets to be called up throughout the season to replace injured Devils forwards. His scoring ability is a valued asset.
