Storm Watch: Severe storms possible with heavy rain, strong wind and hail across New York City

Here’s what you need to know:

• Cloudy with areas of fog this morning. Temperatures are mild in the 60s. A few showers arrive after 8 a.m..
• There is an isolated risk of severe storms after 3 p.m. this afternoon. Any of these storms that move through will bring the threat of localized flash flooding, strong gusts and small hail. It won’t be raining all day, but the risk of scattered storms continues through midnight.

• Worst of the storm: After 3p.m. - 8 p.m. (embedded thunderstorms, flooding downpours, strong to damaging winds)
• Impacts: Isolated flash flooding for poor draining & low-lying areas, downed tree limbs/branches, reduced visibility, nasty travel expected this afternoon - evening.

• Quiet and warmer on Tuesday. Chance of rain by the midweek. Highs in the 70s/80s.
• It may stay rain-free Friday into next weekend.
