There may have been struggles for the New York Knicks on and off the floor in their 2024 NBA playoff run, but excuses started to pile up after a Game 7 loss to the Indiana Pacers. New York's injury list, coaching concerns, and officiating issues were all pointed to after the loss.

ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith hopped on the same train after their brutal loss. He congratulated the Knicks for their successful season and incredible run in the playoffs, but even he spoke on injury problems meeting New York's fate.

"After all these damn injuries already suffered, now I just heard Brunson fractured his thumb. Damn! Thanks for the season @nyknicks . There’s only but so much we can overcome," said Smith, on X.
