Charles Barkley says he hopes to see Knicks get 'stomped' by Celtics

Charles Barkley may not have a rooting interest in the NBA playoffs, but there are certain outcomes he'd like to see.

Barkley had some fun at the expense of New Yorkers on Wednesday, saying he'd "love" to see the New York Knicks make the Eastern Conference Finals — so they can lose to the Boston Celtics.

"If the Knicks win [their second round series] that'd be good," Barkley said. "I don't care who wins, but I'll tell you what, I'd love to see them get they ass stomped by the Celtics. That'd be great."

Barkley added: "I'm just saying, whoever wins this series gonna get they ass stomped by the Boston Celtics."

Barkley then took a shot at Knicks fans, calling New York overrated.

"Y'all New Yorkers deserve it. Y'all think y'all the greatest thing since sliced bread!" Barkley said.

Barkley, ever the provocateur ,then acknowledged that he enjoys New York pizza, bagels, and "street meat."

Before the Knicks can worry about the Eastern Conference Finals, however, they'll have to face the Pacers for Games 3 and 4 in Indiana, with what looks like an increasingly short-handed team.
