Florida woman accused of trying to sneak gun in carry-on bag at NYC airport: TSA

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A Florida woman was arrested at LaGuardia Airport in Queens on Saturday after allegedly trying to sneak a gun past the TSA in her carry-on bag, according to officials.

The woman from Hollywood, Fla., entered the security checkpoint area where the x-ray machine flagged items hidden in her carry-on bag, according to officials. TSA officials found a .25 caliber handgun inside a boot, seven bullets inside a package of make-up wipes and a magazine for the gun inside a sock, authorities said.

TSA officials alerted the Port Authority Police to take away the gun and the related items. Officials said the woman was arrested on weapon charges.

This was the fifth gun found at LaGuardia in 2024, according to the TSA.
